  1. If a ton of paper is recycled, around 17 trees are saved, as well as two oil barrels, 4100 energy kilowatts, 60 pounds worth of pollution and over 3 cubic yards in the landfills.
  2. Automobile manufacturers have lots of steel left over when stamping the patterns needed. The left over steel is put on a conveyor inside the plant which travels to bays where it’s dumped in waiting trailers. When the trailers get full they are pulled by a tractor to a recycling facility often times located very near or inside the automobile manufacturer which recycles the steel and then sends it right back to the automobile manufacturer where the process continues.
  3. Solar energy can be used in many ways, from cooking food to heating or cooling houses, powering automobiles, aircraft and providing energy to buildings.
  4. With the use of micro inverters you can track the power output of each solar panel.
  5. One megawatt of energy can power 1000 average U.S homes for about one hour.

  9. Solar energy can only be produced during daylight to make electricity. That energy has to be used during the night but the production stops when the sun goes down.

  24. Woman swallows $5000 diamond! 400 glasses filled with champagne during an April 2013 charity event in Florida each contained a diamond but only 1 diamond was real, at 1st it came up missing. An 80 year old woman accidentally swallowed it and although embarrassed she eventually told the event makers she had swallowed it while talking and laughing with other women at the table. The diamond was recovered by colonoscopy 2 days later.
  25. According to recent census data in March 2013, about 6% of U.S families In 1976 had a woman as the sole income provider. That same census shows that 23% of U.S households today have a woman as the sole income provider.
  26. A Duke University study says that women wake up far more grumpier than men. It also says that women need much more sleep than men and can have problems such as heart disease and psychological issues from not getting the adequate amount of sleep needed.
  27. International Women’s Day is recognized on March 8th each year. Some countries recognize it as an official holiday.
  28. For the first time in the history of the Olympics, the 2012 U.S Olympic team had more women than men. 269 women and 261 men.
  29. As of July 2012, Marissa Ann Mayer (age 37)  is the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Yahoo appointed her as their new Chief Executive Officer on July 16th 2012 which took effect the following day on July 17th 2012. Woman Power!
  30. There are more women in the United States than men.
